2. Nature of the Service & Content Aggregation
SHOWBOX operates primarily as an indexing, cataloging, and media aggregation client:
- No Media Hosting: SHOWBOX does not store, host, re-encode, or broadcast media content on its own private web servers. Video playback is sourced via links and embeds provided by independent, third-party internet indexing services.
- Metadata & Artwork: Movie and television metadata, descriptions, cast profiles, and poster imagery are indexed from third-party databases such as The Movie Database (TMDB) under fair information practices.
- Third-Party Availability: We do not control and cannot guarantee the permanent availability, uptime, or audio/video fidelity of third-party streams.
3. User Accounts & Security
When you register for an account via Google Sign-In or email:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activities occurring under your account.
- You agree to notify us immediately at info@darknet.com.ng of any unauthorized account access.
- We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate our usage terms or exhibit automated bot patterns.
4. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to engage in any of the following unauthorized activities:
- Attempting to probe, scan, or reverse-engineer the SHOWBOX backend APIs or cryptography keys.
- Using automated crawlers, bots, or scrapers to extract catalog data or bandwidth without written authorization.
- Submitting fraudulent DMCA complaints, false support tickets, or harassing other users in social comments.
- Distributing modified APK builds containing trojans, malware, or altered ad-insertion mechanisms claiming to be official SHOWBOX releases.
5. Warranty Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHOWBOX DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
6. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL SHOWBOX, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.
7. Termination & Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the application following any modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms. You may terminate your agreement at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the application.
