Key Commitment: SHOWBOX never sells, rents, or monetizes your personal data to third parties. We do not incorporate covert background trackers, cryptocurrency miners, or intrusive advertising surveillance frameworks in our official application builds.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to operate, synchronize, and protect the Service:

Account Information: When you register or sign in using email, Google Sign-In, or phone authentication, we receive your email address, display name, and avatar URL provided by your identity provider (Firebase Authentication / Google Identity).
Viewing & Playback Progress: Timestamp checkpoints (e.g., episode progress seconds, completion percentage) to enable cross-device resume capabilities across your profiles.
Device & Telemetry Data: General technical specifications (device model, Android OS version, app version, network type) automatically logged during playback errors to diagnose network failures and improve player stability.
Server Interaction Logs: Standard request logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) to defend against DDoS attacks, automated scraping, and API abuse.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process information strictly for the following purposes:

To enable synchronization of your watch history, watchlist, and personalized recommendations across your devices.
To authenticate your identity securely through cryptographic tokens without exposing your raw passwords.
To maintain video playback failover and determine optimal streaming servers based on region and network quality.
To prevent abuse, bot activity, and ensure compliance with our Terms of Service.

3. Authentication & Third-Party Services (Google OAuth)

SHOWBOX utilizes Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication to provide seamless, single-tap sign-in without storing raw user passwords on our servers.

OAuth Scopes Requested: We exclusively request basic public profile information (openid, email, and profile). We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or sensitive personal data.
Firebase / Google Play Services: Your authentication tokens are validated through Google's official cryptography infrastructure. You can revoke SHOWBOX's access at any time via your Google Account Permissions.

4. Local Offline Storage & Downloads

When you choose to download media for offline viewing in the SHOWBOX Android application:

Files are saved directly to your device's private application sandbox or designated scoped storage directory.
Downloaded media is accessed exclusively on your local device and is never broadcast or relayed back to our servers.
You can delete downloaded files at any moment directly from the Downloads screen inside the application.

We do not sell, lease, or trade your personal data. We only share information in the following limited scenarios:

Service Infrastructure Providers: Trusted hosting, database, and content delivery providers (e.g., Cloudflare, secure shared hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements solely for operating the platform.
Legal Compliance: When required by enforceable law, subpoena, or governmental regulation to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users or the public.

6. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You maintain full ownership over your account data. Under global privacy standards (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:

Access & Review: View all saved watch history, ratings, and profile information directly in the application settings.
Request Account Deletion: You can permanently request deletion of your account and associated profile data at any time directly through Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app, or via our API endpoint (/api/v1/account/delete-request).
